Abstract

THE ARTICLE COVERS THE HISTORICAL EVOLUTION OF SECURITY IN THE CENTRAL AMERICAN REGION, FROM THE BEGINNING OF CONDECA TO THE BIRTH OF THE DEMOCRATIC SECURITY FRAMEWORK TREATY, TMSD. IT ALSO DISCUSSES THE NEW INSTITUTIONAL FRAMEWORK THAT EMERGED FROM THE SIGNING OF THE TMSD, AS WELL AS THE CURRENT CHALLENGES IN THE SECURITY PANORAMA IN CENTRAL AMERICA.
