Abstract

THE BASIC FEATURES OF AN APPROPRIATE DEVELOPMENT MODEL FOR OUR COUNTRIES ARE PRESENTED. THE GENERAL FRAMEWORK CONDITIONS PREVAILING IN TODAY'S GLOBALIZED ECONOMY AND SOCIETY ARE CONSIDERED, AS WELL AS THE ESSENTIAL OBJECTIVES, FOUNDATIONS AND INSTRUMENTS TO BE DEVELOPED IF WE ARE TO SUCCESSFULLY JOIN THE EMERGING "KNOWLEDGE SOCIETY".
