This article is framed within the analysis of the processes of change of the organizations, specifically in the subject of strategic alliances, merger and acquisition, so that, it traverses how the human being throughout its history has fomented the unions to strengthen and achieve common goals.
It analyzes the mergers of public private organizations and concludes with a brief presentation of the Costa Rican case of the Universidad Técnica Nacional (UTN), which in 2008 decided to strengthen itself through the union of different educational centers and today, competes with the most prestigious in the country.
