Abstract

Quality in nephrology, as well as in medicine, is a real need and although it is clearly with clinical parameters, there are no subjective parameters derived from the patient's perception. Integrating this parameter into the scales is a challenge that could solved with at least advent of artificial intelligence in the health sector. For patients with chronic kidney disease on hemodialysis therapy, caring for vascular access is a constant concern. Furthermore, for the health sector it is not only important to improve the symptoms of the disease with an adequate dialysis session but also to reduce complications and costs associated with morbidity and mortality. A review of the literature is carried out, as well as a qualitative observational study of the hemodialysis unit of the San Juan de Dios Hospital to determine the status of an international quality standard, where it is determined that it is required to implement quality management systems in the different units and services of the country, but for this it is essential to change from a quality based on results to a quality based on processes, or an intelligent management system with the incorporation of artificial intelligence.
