Abstract

The world’s population has multiplied in recent years and resources are becoming scarcer. For the year 2019, according to the UN, about 7.7 billion people were

counted worldwide, of which 629 million live in Latin America. Clearly, this high number of people requires more space and natural resources to survive, For this reason, food security and the proper use of natural resources is one of the fundamental pillars of the Government’s agenda for the development and well-being of the population.

The document that commits countries is called the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It contains 17 Sustainable Development Goals. In this article of literature review, we address current events that prevent the Latin American region from allowing access to safe, safe and sustainable food; in addition, we report on the socioeconomic impact, environmental impact of the use of agrochemicals by the food industry; and finally offers some proposals and a set of measures to achieve the implementation of a sustainable food that helps the recovery of natural resources and guarantees sustainable food security.
