Abstract

THIS ARTICLE EXPLORES THE LINKS BETWEEN THE PARTICIPATION OF TRADITIONAL MEXICAN COFFEE AND COCOA PRODUCERS IN GLOBAL COMMODITY CHAINS, AS WELL AS THE LINKS THIS HAS TO THE ISSUE OF SUSTAINABILITY. TO THIS END, WE WILL SEEK TO ANSWER TWO QUESTIONS: DOES PARTICIPATION IN COMMODITY CHAINS FAVOR IN ANY WAY THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT PROCESSES OF TRADITIONAL MEXICAN AGRICULTURAL COFFEE AND COCOA PRODUCERS? WHAT ARE THE RISKS OF PARTICIPATION IN THE CHAINS, IF SO, OF THE GOODS CHOSEN IN THE STUDY?
