Abstract

This article understands legislation as one more public intervention as part of a country's state action. The purpose of this paper is to reflect on the international debates and the existing institutional possibilities in some European and Latin American countries to formally carry out Legislative Evaluations, however, it seeks to identify the current state of this field as a result of the advances or obstacles to its professionalization. Thus, mechanisms or debates on the evaluation of laws are presented, with the purpose of suggesting the strengthening of the scope of the Legislative Branch and broadening the legal frameworks for the evaluation of public interventions from their national debates.
