Abstract

International migrations are a phenomenon that date back to the same time of the appearance of human beings as such on the planet. Very varied have been the reasons that have caused different groups throughout history, have mobilized to other territories migrating from one side to another. The search for food, better climatic conditions, better conditions of survival, exploration, occupation of territories, crisis, commercialization of goods, warlike conflicts, political and religious or simply the desire to live well, as Aristotle said, were some of the causes of Such displacements. For the specific case of this work we propose to carry out an analysis regarding the causes that caused a significant mass of Nicaraguans to see in Costa Rica (from the Sandinista revolution onwards) a possibility of growth and improvement of their quality of Life and with it the effects that brought to collation for the ethical population, the wave of immigrants that congregated in the province of San José, place from where we propose this approach. It is intended to analyze the social representations that were forged around them, the modifications, especially at urban scale, that had to be carried out due to the existence of a large proportion demand and the social impact that generates in the Costa Rican population The appearance of this new actor who, although a foreigner, is also a subject of rights.
