Abstract

THE PURPOSE OF THIS ARTICLE IS TO ANALYZE THE INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT POLICIES THAT HAVE INFLUENCED THE DYNAMICS, DEVELOPMENT AND EVOLUTION OF THE ELECTRONICS SECTOR IN MEXICO, AND THEN TO EXAMINE THE PUBLIC INITIATIVES AND PUBLIC-PRIVATE ALLIANCES THAT HAVE RECONFIGURED THE PRODUCTIVE STRUCTURE OF THE ELECTRONICS SECTOR IN JALISCO AND THAT, AT THE SAME TIME, HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO LINKING LOCAL COMPANIES TO GLOBAL VALUE CHAINS OF MULTINATIONAL FIRMS IN THE SECTOR, WITH DIFFERENT PRODUCTIVE CAPACITIES AND TECHNOLOGICAL LEVELS.
