Abstract

IN A GLOBALIZED ECONOMY WHERE COMPANIES ARE LOOKING FOR MINIMUM COST INPUTS IN ORDER TO COMPETE, PORT SERVICES ARE CONSIDERED VERY IMPORTANT, SINCE THEY MOBILIZE BETWEEN 85% AND 90% OF THE WORLD TRADE VOLUME. TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE CHALLENGES THAT CENTRAL AMERICAN COUNTRIES FACE IN MARITIME TRANSPORT, THE CENTRAL AMERICAN COMMISSION OF MARITIME TRANSPORT, COCATRAM, DESIGNS A STRATEGIC PLAN TO ACHIEVE AN EFFICIENT REGIONAL INSERTION IN THE WORLD ECONOMY.
