The purpose of this paper is to feature a theoretical discussion of the presidential advisory office based on a reflection of the empirical experience of researchers and within the framework of limited literature of the Social Sciences. This paper focuses on the analysis of power in the exercise of government, establishing a difference between models of support and strengthening for the leadership of the president and those oriented to the institutional leadership of the Presidency. The validity of the models of informal institutionalization is intensified to guide contexts of uncertainty, social fragmentation, and political pluralism. This article proposes an approach applied to the political direction, as it offers orientations for future investigations, of an understudied subject as it is the Presidency and her exercise of power.
