Abstract

THIS ARTICLE SUMMARIZES THE FIRST EXPERIENCE IN CENTRAL AMERICA OF TRANSFERRING THE ADMINISTRATION OF A LOCAL PUBLIC HEALTH SYSTEM TO A WORKERS' COOPERATIVE ENTERPRISE. THE "PAVAS CLINIC PILOT PLAN", IN SAN JOSÉ, PRESENTS THE MOST IMPORTANT BACKGROUND, A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT, ITS FIRST RESULTS AND SOME CONSIDERATIONS ABOUT THE FUTURE OF THIS MODEL.
