Abstract

IN THIS WORK, THE AUTHOR, GATHERING HISTORICAL, ECONOMIC, SOCIAL AND PUBLIC INTEREST ELEMENTS WITHIN THE COSTA RICAN CONTEXT, ARGUES THE CONVENIENCE OF ELEVATING BANKING NATIONALIZATION TO A CONSTITUTIONAL NORM AND INCLUDES SOME SUGGESTIONS TO IMPROVE THE FUNCTIONING OF THE NATIONALIZED BANK, RECONCILING SOME CURRENT CONTROLS SO THAT FAR FROM BEING A HINDRANCE, THEY ENSURE ITS SUCCESSFUL PERFORMANCE IN COMPETITION WITH THE REST OF THE INSTITUTIONS OF THE FINANCIAL SYSTEM.
