Abstract

Around Social Responsibility, an important theoretical polyphony, diversity of reports and metateoric studies, epistemological approaches and philosophical approaches have been conceived, both to define and analyze it and to reorient its real purposes in the midst of the thriving whirlwind of our contemporary times. The pre-existing literature coincides with the demanding nature of our time due to a new configuration of the global socioeconomic scenario, more in tune with governance paradigms that lead sustainable social management. This exercise, in particular, adds its voice to elucidate the state of the art of Social Responsibility in Public Administration for considering it of high value to provide a perspective on the scope and challenges that represents, for local and international leaders, the construction of a new logic on public administrative functions within the framework of the organizational sustainability model that the European Commission urges, and the Sustainable Development Goals, on the development of public policies with responsible social and environmental criteria, and in accordance with the ethical management recommended by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. In order to delve deeper into this topic, a bibliographic exploration and review has been carried out in various scientific and academic repositories, a methodological activity that allowed theoretical triangulation and facilitated the emergence of inferences and prospects on Social Responsibility in Public Administration.
