Abstract

CONSIDERING THAT CENTRAL AMERICAN ECONOMIC INTEGRATION IS A NECESSITY FOR SMALL ENTERPRISES IN THE REGION, THE ARTICLE REVIEWS THIS PROCESS SINCE ITS CREATION IN 1960. AT THE SAME TIME, IT ATTEMPTS TO CHARACTERIZE THE CRISIS FACED BY THIS PROCESS DURING THE 1980S, IDENTIFYING BOTH THE EXTERNAL AND INTERNAL CAUSES THAT LED TO IT.
